Brass dragon fly and genuine natural turquoise gemstone dangle earrings
Turquoise is said to be the oldest gemstone known to man in human history and is the birthstone for the Month of December. Turquoise is an opaque, blue-to-green mineral that is a hydrated phosphate of copper and aluminum. It is rare and valuable in finer grades and has been prized as a gemstone and ornamental stone for thousands of years. Native American tribes of the Southwest wore turquoise as an amulet thought to offer protection, and in ancient Persia (and modern day Iran) some believe that wearing turquoise can ward off the “evil eye”
